Common Law Assent

I suddenly foresee a need to affirm common law, because it appears that some of the most basic fundamentals of our freedoms are being threatened! Over 200 years ago such was the case of slavery! Unbeknownst to many ... it was invoked to end the slave trade! Mercantile law tried to keep slavery, it was eventually defeated thanks to common law !
